There is a ridfge on them maybe, not all do but the 'posi-lock type'. I dont use locktite, just polish esp on a If you look real close at the tightening screws on the scope you may see that they are 'odd' on the end that tightens against the scope block. The two blocks need to be tight and maybe fingernail polished on. Just like with any scope mount make sure it they are solid. Not a big problem if you know to expect it. As some one said the distance between the bases will determine how the adjustment will move. I have about 3 of force spring loaded on mine heavier guns might want more tension.

The external mount adjustments are click and the internal adjustments are friction. You should be able to figure out the click values with some careful target shooting. On an external adjustable mount, the distance between the front and rear mount effects what the click values are. And what way to turn the knob for up and right.
